Chalk the Block
Join Jewish Museum Milwaukee for “Chalk The Block,” a family-friendly block party that puts ART at its center. During this event, participants young and old will be provided with simple drawings steeped in Indian imagery to use as templates for their creativity. Trained artists, including Siona Benjamin, the featured artist of the museum’s newest exhibit “Beyond Borders: The Art of Siona Benjamin,” will add inspiration and direction as needed. Participants can come for a short while or stay to watch the community transform a public space into a work of art in four different locations: Jewish Museum Milwaukee, 1360 N. Prospect Ave., Mitchell Street Branch of Milwaukee Public Library, 906 W. Mitchell St., Black Cat Alley – in partnership with East Branch Library, E. Ivanhoe Pl., and Marcus Performing Arts Center, 929 N. Water St. This event is free and open to the public. For more info, call (414) 390-5730 or visit JewishMuseumMilwaukee.org.
