Remember when winter in Milwaukee was a dead zone for shows, events, and—especially—outdoor parties? Well, those days are long gone. Mitten Fest 2020 is already in the books; the kinda-sorta outdoor VinterSköl Musik Fest is this Saturday; and Wückfinter will take over the parking lot of Ray’s Wine & Spirits on February 23. (What’s with all the umlauts?) Now, add to that list a special “Snow Day” party coming to the East Side’s Black Cat Alley on Saturday, February 22.

“Join fellow hardy Wisconsinites for dancing, warm drinks, and a snowball toss in Black Cat Alley,” reads a press release. “The ‘toss’ will be very casual and a fun excuse to play in the snow and enjoy a nostalgic aspect of our midwestern winters.” Fun!

As for the warm drinks, expect cider, plain old hot chocolate, and plain old hot chocolate spiked by Great Northern Distilling. DJ Fuzzy Logic, meanwhile, will provide the “tropical bass jams.”

Black Cat Alley—a.k.a. “Milwaukee’s original street art alley”—is located between East Kenilworth Place and East Ivanhoe Place. The free event runs from 1-5 p.m. Oh, and when it’s over, go over to Landmark and drink and bowl and play some pinball. The Landmark is great.
